"The responsibility that the media carries is of crucial importance for humanity as a whole. Mahatma Gandhi utilised the media in creative ways throughout his adult life and in his many pronouncements he spoke about the role of media and of journalists. He was a journalist himself and he would appeal to fellow journalists to realize their responsibility and to carry on their work with no idea other than that of upholding the truth. His papers did not provide information only, but called people to action. They helped to organize and mobilise the masses.
May this workshop help to create a more humane world in the spirit of Gandhi!"

Founder and Chairperson of GandhiServe Foundation; author of the photo biography "Gandhi" and consultant to various media projects on Gandhi all over the world.
"Mahatma Gandhi knew the importance of media, particularly the press. He used them to carry his message of truth and nonviolence for an independent India and a more humane world forward, to every nook and corner in South Africa and India.
In order to spread his message it is important to produce media that document his life and work well and interpret his message properly. Such works help to understand and apply the Gandhian technique of nonviolence better, thus help solving the many problems the world is facing today.
Thank you for your contributions!"
